What should I do before bathroom fitters arrive?
A little preparation before the first day can make the bathroom installation smoother, cleaner and less stressful for everyone in the house.
Clear what you can
Remove toiletries, towels, ornaments, bins, scales and loose items from the bathroom. Clear the route from the entrance to the bathroom as much as possible.
If there are cupboards near the stop tap, boiler, airing cupboard or consumer unit, make sure they can be accessed.
Check products and decisions
Make sure the agreed products are ordered and available when needed. Tiles, shower valves, trays, taps and furniture can all affect the order of work.
Try to settle decisions before the job starts, especially tile layout, grout colour, niche positions, accessories and where mirrors or cabinets will go.
Plan around disruption
Bathroom work can be noisy and dusty. There may be periods where water is isolated or the toilet, bath or shower cannot be used.
Discuss parking, working hours, pets, children and any access issues before the first morning so the team can plan properly.
